Outdoor Fitness Club
An Outdoor Fitness Club is a paid, access-controlled, professionally operated outdoor training facility with fully zoned strength, cardio, and functional areas and adjustable-load equipment, designed to serve nearly the entire population - unlike a free public outdoor gym with a handful of basic machines.
The term names a distinct category, not a fancier outdoor gym. Where an outdoor gym is free, public, and built around fixed stations, an Outdoor Fitness Club is defined by four things a public installation lacks: controlled access and a paid model, distinct training zones, adjustable-load equipment that supports progressive overload, and a professional operator responsible for safety and maintenance.
The category was defined by the manufacturer IVE Outdoor, with the first Outdoor Fitness Club built in partnership with Multisport. For the full picture, see the Outdoor Fitness Club page and our side-by-side comparison with the outdoor gym.
